Benjamin and his family and friends have arrived at the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
Today, Benjamin is going to the beach. Benjamin wants to be an explorer when he grows up but will there be anything at the beach to explore? Will he be bored?
Come hang out with Benjamin and see what a toddler thinks of a day at the beach.
“What fun it was to go to the beach virtually with The Kneecap Kids: Benjamin Goes to the Beach! Written by local Renee Hodges and illustrated by Hollie Hewitt & Gerald Brickhouse both local also, this story is about the Outerbanks and speaks from the point of view of a young child who is kneecap high.
Six friends who go on adventures in the Outer Banks of North Carolina is a silly way to introduce an excursion that may be overwhelming to a young child.
I remember having to explain new places to my son when he was that age in detail so he would not be scared. This would have been a fun way to introduce them. What is a ghost crab and why does it keep disappearing? I, myself have even learned something reading this book. I always knew the “something small and super fast on the water’s edge” as sand crabs; they are actually mole crabs.
There is even a personalized page in the back to fill in and make memories with your child. If I had a “kneecap” size child, these books would definitely be in my rotation.”
